Hotel Grimming

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Grimming. It’s cozy, the overall service was excellent, special shoutout to Susann, the food was fantastic, and the fact that our dog felt welcome made the stay especially enjoyable. The reason we are leaving four stars instead of five is due to one unfortunate experience related to the dog daycare. We had signed up to drop off our dog at a specific time and, due to a wrong turn on our first morning in Rauris, arrived approximately 19 minutes after the original time (about 4 minutes beyond a 15-minute buffer the hotel had kindly arranged for us). We understand that punctuality matters and fully acknowledge the delay. However, when we arrived, the interaction felt unnecessarily harsh. We were repeatedly told how inconsiderate we had been and were not given much opportunity to explain the situation. The tone of the exchange made us uncomfortable, and the agreed-upon pickup time was shortened as a result. While we appreciate that schedules need to be respected, the manner in which the situation was handled felt disproportionate to the delay. It’s worth noting that Egon clearly cares about dogs and seems very experienced, and aside from this moment, our overall stay was positive. Still, since one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was the advertised dog daycare, this interaction left us feeling a bit disappointed. That said, we truly enjoyed the hotel.

The Gimming is a nice hotel and it’s in an excellent location for the ski school & 900m gondola. Breakfast here is fantastic and I particularly enjoyed the breads on offer. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly & helpful. There’s a main restaurant is for hotel guests and a smaller restaurant for non-hotel guests. After a hard day skiing you want a nice meal and you will get that at the Grimming. I would recommend this establishment and I would return here in the future.

We loved this hotel. Perfect for anything dog. Grooming parlour for those wet muddy walks. Food excellent, rooms large and comfortable. Ideally situated for parking, shopping, cafes, bank, skiing. We will be going back.
