Gîte GAVARENT

We had a wonderful stay at the Gavarent chalet with mountain views. Martin's communication and contact were very positive. The chalet is very comfortable, perfectly equipped, and ideal for 5 people. The village is within walking distance, and it can be a great starting point for many hikes. We even swam in the stream that runs down the mountain and past the chalet. In short, a dream week with the family.

A fantastic cottage, nestled in one of the most beautiful parts of the French Pyrenees. The cottage itself was spotless: clean, well-maintained, comfortably furnished, well-equipped, with very friendly and helpful owners and a large, adventurous garden (there's even a river running through it, though no play area for children). The location is fantastic! From the garden, you have a view of several mountain peaks (see photo, taken from the bedroom). The cottage is within walking distance of the village of Gavarnie (a 10-minute walk to the bakery and a small shop). From our cottage, we were able to take several beautiful walks (including one to the Cirque de Gavarnie). From the garden, we regularly saw large flocks of griffon vultures flying overhead. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage, we also saw bearded vultures, golden eagles, and alpine marmots. Gavarnie is very busy during the day, and the street near the cottage is full of parked cars, but that didn't bother us at all because the cottage itself is only about 30 meters from the street. We had a wonderful week here. For anyone who loves nature, mountain walks and tranquility: don't hesitate: this is the place to be!

A superb experience in this warm and well-designed house, beautifully decorated and very well-equipped. The hosts are very welcoming and offer excellent advice for exploring the valley. There are numerous hiking trails (GR) accessible near the house, and the Gavarnie-Gedre ski resort is just 10 minutes away. I would gladly return.
