Nice old traditional hotel, rooms are what you would expect in a traditional hotel like this, fine though. Staff are fantastic, good craic while you wait for your meal, the food is amazing, traditional European offerings and authentic Indian food. Had a few different choices and they just got better each night! Hope to be back on my next visit, miss the staff & food already!

I hate giving bad reviews but people need to know. This hotel is a health hazard. Black mold on windows, filthy hall carpets and crumbling plaster walls. The dining room smells of mildew and all the chairs are way past their useful life. There has been some attempt at updating bathrooms but the guest rooms are generally stark with uncomfortable beds and mold on the windows with chopped paintwork. The hallways are dark with the lights off which makes the whole place uninviting but if you turn them on the black stains on the carpet become apparent. When we stayed they were looking for a chef and sous chef so the food was not great either. It felt like staying in an underfunded institution. For £195 a night they need to do better. I’ve stayed in better travelodges for £69 .

Live locally and popped in for food. The staff were 10 out of 10 incredibly pleasant but unfortunately the only redeeming feature. The dining area smelled concerning upon entering (presumably wafting from the kitchen) and the chicken madras left a lot to be desired in that it was neither pleasant nor had any identifiable kick beyond ginger and over stewed coriander. The naan was stodgy and over fired in places. The pilau rice unusually greasy. The curry itself .. where do I start.. so fundamentally unbalanced I felt compelled to leave a crisis helpline number with the bill! And I'm being quite serious when I ask this, is your chef okay?.. The cardinal sin (as if having zero ability to put flavours together well wasnt enough...) had to be the undercooked chicken and the side of thick curly dark hair I pulled out of the curry sauce... man alive. All together a health and hygiene nightmare and I would strongly advise against eating here. This meal quite possibly gave me depression. I previously tried to leave a review on the Facebook page but it seemed to change from 'would not recommend' to 'recommended' upon editing and now for some odd reason I can't seem to leave any review so I have deleted the old one and im mildly irritated to see it put their recommendation percentage up. I would not in good conscience recommend this place to my starved enemy. Poppadoms were nae bad, though I'm quite sure those are ordered in.
