Carswell Farm Holiday Cottages

Lovely old semi-detached Boundary Cottage - a pleasant size for 4 - woodburner was excellent - sandyford oven fine to cook with after a little practice - bring an oven thermometer you know is accurate - day bed in big bathroom made for a unique en suite experience - great quiet location in countryside - Boundary and Shepherds cottages are cleverly private from each other so not overlooked - Wadham Rocks beach about 20 minutes walk. Enjoyed Christmas here.

Having stayed in several of these lovely cottages over the last couple of years we can thoroughly recommend Corner Cottage and Shepherds Cottage where we had a longer stay this winter. The cottages are in a tranquil and unspoilt area. There is a lot to explore and so much to do. Beautiful beaches and the coastal path nearby, Dartmoor not too far, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers almost on the doorstep both equally pretty with some good pubs. The cottages are well equipped with lovely views over the countryside and plenty of wildlife to see.... it really is far from the madding crowd but reasonably accessible. This was our third trip to Lambside House and we were impressed with the renovations. We had a lovely weekend. It’s a great place for a couple of families to enjoy the Devon coast and countryside. Very spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Not so good if you want/need to home from work as the WiFi is very intermittent and 4\5G coverage non existent in places. The hot tub seemed beyond our capabilities, which was a shame as the kids were really looking forward to using it. However, I’m sure it’s good once you get it working. Jo was, as ever, really helpful and on hand whenever we needed anything or had a dumb question! Would definitely recommend and would come back.
