Alston Youth Hostel

We didnt stay in the hostel. Our daughter was doing the Pennine way and had booked overnight. We were supporting her walk and joined her here for the evening meal. The warden couldn't have been nicer and was very helpful. His Spaniel pup nearly got kidnapped by us as she was absolutely gorgeous.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good kitchen, dining room and lounge. This hostel is a work in progress and I anticipate that it will be very good in a few years. The evening meal was not the best. Curry dry and lacking sauce. It would be good to offer puddings. The drying room is not big enough for when there are more guests.

I had a lovely stay at this hostel! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. I especially appreciated the convenient location and the quiet environment, which made it easy to rest after a long day. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable and cozy accommodation.
