The Coombe Barton Inn

Even with the dodgy weather, this was a memorable weekend. Coombe Barton inn is in a great location. The staff are very welcoming, efficient and friendly, and we felt very comfortable. The rooms are very nicely styled and spacious. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff weren't phased by it and the service and the food were really good. We had locally caught Hake for our main course and it was cooked perfectly. A great place to stay, and we will be back.

This became our local while we were staying nearby for a winter holiday. We have three reactive dogs which can make eating out uncomfortable. We told the staff who kindly set us up in the games room, (it was out of peak season so was empty) so we could eat in peace without fear of an incident. To top it all, the food was great!

What a fantastic evening meal we just had, my cheeseburger was perfectly cooked using butchers meat not processed rubbish, my daughter’s haloumi burger was from thick cut cheese with a wonderful caramelised onion chutney and my wife’s veggie curry was rich and not too spicy. All of that topped off with sticky toffee pudding, ice cream and strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake and we were stuffed. Staff were welcoming and polite, service was fast and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Dogs are welcome which is great, we will definitely be back soon!!!!
