We expected it to be good, but it was genuinely amazing. The service from the hotel staff was exceptional from start to finish. It is such a different kind of hotel – small, intimate, and thoughtfully run. You can sense that the team truly enjoy working there and that everything is set up to ensure every guest has a great stay. Before we arrived, I had heard that the sauna needed to be booked in advance and initially thought that sounded restrictive. In reality, it was the complete opposite. The reason you book is because they prepare it perfectly just for you. It is set to the ideal temperature, fresh towels are laid out, water and snacks are ready, and you are shown how to connect your own music. It feels completely private, spotless, and tailored to you. There is also a beautiful area for drinks in the evening. Again, I first thought it was unusual that it operates within a set time frame, but it quickly became clear why. By focusing on specific hours, they are able to give guests their full attention and deliver a truly high quality experience. The hotel is not restrictive at all – it is precise and intentional, designed to provide the very best service rather than trying to serve everyone at any time with average results. More hotels should work like this. I loved how small and personal it felt. Breakfast was outstanding. We expected a buffet, but instead were served a beautifully presented, high quality and varied meal on individual platters. You can absolutely tell the restaurant is Michelin starred. Housekeeping was also excellent. Our room was cleaned while we were out skiing, and we received a full turndown service when we went out for dinner. An exceptional stay from beginning to end. We will absolutely be back.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Milka during our trip to Slovenia in September and everything was a wonderful experience! The service by all members of the staff was friendly and courteous. Our room was beautiful and had a wonderful view of Lake Jasna, which is only steps away from the hotel. The room was beautifully decorated and a very comfortable stay. It is also very convenient as a stay nearby Kranska Gora and Vrsic Pass. We also had breakfast twice at the hotel and it was as beautifully arranged as it was delicious! We regretfully were not staying while they were offering dinner but I would bet it is also great! We highly recommend staying if you are in the area!

Fantastic location, terrific rooms (ours had mountain views plus an outdoor hot tub), very friendly staff and terrific breakfast. Beware, the one big disappointment was that the Michelin 2 star restaurant was closed the two nights we visited (as it is routinely closed 2 days a week, at least in September). Also, there’s no good food immediately close to the hotel (across the street is passable food, not really ‘good’). The food in town, about 10 minute walk, was fine/good.
