Camping de la Mer de Glace

Lovely campsite in the perfect location for exploring the Chamonix valley. Good sized pitches, free use of train into town is very handy. The communal indoor areas are great to sit in warm and dry and charge devices. Overall the facilities were good however the toilets did not have toilet seats and there is no toilet paper in the cubicles.

Large and calm camping, it was still very relaxed atmosphere when completely full. Clean facilities, bread service, street food in the evenings, guest card with which you can take the local train for free. No reservations but if you come in the morning, you might get lucky (it was completely full every day at the end of July).

Lovely location, the camping itself is very cosy and inside locations are warming and inviting. Nice showers (close at 21:30) and good sized pitches- the camping is not too crowded. There IS toilet paper, it is just outside the toilets, you need to take it before you get inside - that fairly makes the toilets much cleaner than in other campings. I would like to put specific attention on how helpful and friendly was the staff. I camped there twice and second time I did not even hesitate to go there. All because of nice people there and good facilities too :) There are food trucks that come every day in the evening, we tasted urban smoker which was amazing, can’t say anything else about other trucks. Highly recommended.
