Horseshoe Hotel

Only staying one night, but the room is nice and cosy, the shower is fantastic (once i worked out how to turn it on) and what we tasted of the food was very good and a reasonable price. Its very dog friendly here, unfortunately it turns out my dogs are not and i wouldn't recommend bringing nervous or untrained pups as the bar is small, it was not the ideal place to bring them for a first trip. The hotel its self gives off wicker man vibes like im actually slightly worried I might be sacrificed in the night, but hopefully that's just because its an old building.

Lovely owner. Great service. Parking and WiFi. Dog friendly, real fires. Rooms quirky, but need some upgrading. Towels, tea and coffee, toiletries are of a good standard. Breakfast excellent. Evening menu could be better and use local food.

Arrived here by mistake on a Sunday due to the weather. Myself and my friend and my dog were accommodated in the dining room which although is shabby I thought it was delightful. We ordered the Sunday lunch. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Sunday lunch like it out of the home. It had five different vegetables cooked in a different style not straight up. I had a piece of pan fried chicken and gravy and home-made Yorkshire puddings it is one of the best Sunday dinners I’ve ever been provided with in a pub and it was priced fairly.
