Tigh-na-Fraoch, Bed & Breakfast

Tigh-na-Fraoch is the place to stay. Heather is a down-to-earth, hard working Scottish gem. We stayed one night after arriving early: “No worries! All Magic! Knew you’d be early.” The BbB is clean, cozy with comfortable rooms, a kettle and waiting cuppa which was had while soaking tore up feet in the little creek next to the bnb. A big soaking tub in the en suite was also very inviting. A vegetarian breakfast of yogurt, home made scones, freshest fruit (pomegranate seeds! Kiwi!) and jams with cheese & tea was absolutely the best way to start the day after a comfy sleep in the twin bed. When the morning went sideways with an injured/infected toe, Heather lined up a list of taxis to get me to the place. When it further went awry, she went above & beyond to acquire a taxi, spoke to a pharmacist & then offered an open cottage for me to rest until said taxi arrived. Good people and good businesses *do* exist. This is one of them. Thank you, Heather.

We stayed for two nights at Heather’s place and it was divine. We stayed in the cottage opposite the main house and our family of three had two rooms. One was an en-suite double the other was two twin beds with a private bathroom but not en-suite. This was no issue at all. Everything was absolutely spotless. The cottage has a dining area, kitchen and a big living area with couches and a TV. These common areas are shared with other guests who might also be in the cottage. There’s a small drying room that was sufficient to dry our shoes and coats. Heather’s breakfast is delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend this as a place to relax and recharge half way through the WHW trail.

As I look back on our trip and the places we stayed, Heather and this B&B were among the best. Heather's warmth and kindness stand out, breakfast was delicious, and lunches yummy. The room was clean, functional, and spacious enough where I didn't feel like I was all elbows in the bathroom. I also appreciate the actually hot shower! Tigh-na-Fraoch delivered on all fronts!
