i’d like to agree with Colin’s review below. you truly are paying for the views. whilst we enjoyed our trip i do feel this place is a cash grab at best. firstly, we booked it as “torlundy farm lodge” but it’s actually called “lone pine lodge”. as we arrived in the dark we couldn’t see the signs so drove about for an hour as its listed as another name. it wasn’t particularly clean, the kitchen was falling to bits and towels weren’t exactly white. beds were extremely uncomfortable (like genuinely as hard as a rock). they put the hot water and heating on a timer (it was genuinely freezing). its advertised as “dog friendly” but with a massive open part in the fence that leads to a road…??? the kitchen table cloth had a massive burn hole in the middle. also no warning about a farm/guard dog that comes running at you barking.. i think our biggest disappointment was lack of effort. there was no welcome pack, no note to say “have a nice time”, no directions to where anything was (shops, chippy etc), no phone call to make sure we could find the place (that was literally not sign posted). not even a bottle of milk in the fridge.. and the fridge wasn’t even switched on. no instructions for how to work the wood burner. and that’s why i think it’s a cash grab. be warned.. the money you pay will be for the location and views ONLY.

Firstly, you are paying for the location It’s is simply stunning and a great base for a holiday, but a tent in the field would give you the same The layout of the lodge is ideal and useable, however, it is filthy and whoever runs the estate has no idea of customer service - no welcome pack - bins overflowing outside - no instructions for anything - beds are so uncomfortable we didn’t sleep and can home early - internet speed is a joke - no BBQ as advertised - dog friendly yet the decking opens up to a field with sheep and horses? This property could be perfect but is clearly run for profit rather than an experience to treasure

Almost reluctant to leave a great review because this is possibly the Highlands' best kept secret. What a fantastic Lodge. We have been blown away by Lone Pine. Its location is simply stunning with views from every window but of course, the best being from the lounge and upper floor from where you can gaze longingly at the mountains and the star of the show, Ben Nevis. The outdoor seating area is perfectly positioned to enjoy a vista to die for as well as beautiful horses and sheep living happily side by side in the surrounding fields. The Lodge itself is spacious and homely and we absolutely loved it from the moment we arrived. The living area is welcoming, comfortable and relaxing with a fabulous wood burner (and plenty of wood provided) and the kitchen is well positioned with dining table located nearby for sociable cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms are spacious and lovely and having two bathrooms is perfect. The walks from the Lodge are enchanting as the farm is situated in acres of beautiful woods, a river and meadows so roaming freely is joyous and liberating. We have loved every minute of our stay here and will return next year. I cannot think of a more perfect way to spend time in this wonderful part of the Highlands. Thank you to the owners of Lone Pine - you have made our holiday very special.
