Please read this carefully. Anyone who pays over £1200 to stay in one of these matchbox cabins during the winter ( or summer ) should really understand what they are booking. Even with a £200 discount one can see why every cabin is empty. Interesting that none of the six reviews. ( were they compensated?) say anything about the entire site being side on to a very visible graveyard. I don’t believe there are any views of the actual beach from the cabins. Yes, there is a Sea view down through a valley however for this price you can get far better accommodation elsewhere. There is also nothing I read indicating that access to the majority of the cabins is up a very steep track that you have to physically drag your gear and groceries up. Don’t even think that they could get Insurance for an electric golf cart to go up and down as it would be too dangerous ……very disappointing. As I was in the area and wanting to stay somewhere, I went to view before I booked and could not believe the price and DREADFUL value for money.. thank goodness I did not go online and book . To say it is a two minute walk to the beach is a gross exaggeration ….walking briskly downhill if you are fit you might get there in five minutes and , coming back possibly 10. Also be aware there is a big sign promoting the fact there is no Internet ( there is also very poor for reception with EE) . Why anyone would see this as a Plus in this day and age other than it saving the developers some money paying for a decent Starlink service, is a mystery. A selfish person that doesn’t need to keep in touch with elderly relatives, children, business associates or even friends might find this Plus. I would suggest the majority certainly do not. Very few people in this day and age can be cut off from communications access for a week, if that is going to be the length of the stay. Also, on a long Winter’s night what are you going to do when you eventually get tired of reading, there is no option to download a Netflix video or something for Entertainment . Very odd.!

Very cosy cabin, there is everything you need. Nice bathroom and a small kitchen, + the amazing view! We had a fantastic walk on the beach with the donkeys! Very friendly and caring hosts, we're coming back next year. M & I

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing, mainly due to safety and communication issues during winter conditions. The accommodation itself is located at the bottom of a very steep, approx. 0,9 m long access road leading down to the sea. On arrival day, we were told: “If conditions feel slippery, some guests prefer to park at the top and walk down instead — completely up to you.” At no point were we clearly warned that we might not be able to leave the property at all if weather conditions worsened. The next morning, due to snow, ice and severe icy conditions, the access road was not passable. The road had not been gritted or cleared, and we were effectively stranded. We immediately contacted the hosts and asked for help. The only offer was to stay an extra night for free. This was not a realistic option for us, as the weather forecast showed further deterioration and we had no food left in the cabin. We were told salt was available, but this turned out to be a small pile of dirty gravel and only regular shovels (no snow shovels). Despite being unwell, the two of us spent around four hours manually clearing the steep road ourselves in order to leave safely. There was no follow-up to check whether we managed to get out. Had we waited for assistance, we would likely still have been stranded. What made this experience unacceptable was the follow-up communication. Instead of concern or professionalism, we received emails blaming us entirely, questioning our judgment, and speaking to us in a condescending and dismissive manner. The tone was inappropriate, disrespectful, and far below what one should expect from a professional host. The messages contained personal remarks that felt insulting and highly unprofessional. We fully understand that extreme weather is beyond anyone’s control and that public roads may not be maintained. However, in such a remote location and during winter, clearer warnings, better communication, and respectful treatment of guests are essential. We have experienced outstanding hospitality throughout Scotland, but unfortunately this accommodation was a negative exception. For winter travel especially, we cannot recommend this accommodation - we would strongly advise caution when booking here in winter, because the hosts won't care about you.
