A peaceful town I was in Crit for only a few hours during Haferland week. We had a bike tour through the Saxon villages organized by Lucian Mandruta. The Haferland organizers stopped us right at the entrance to Crit so that the small town wouldn't get blocked. I think they did a bad job because there was enough space in Crit. We all crowded into the field, right next to the DN, then we walked to Crit. If they had let cars in, I think everyone would have bought something. We especially saw fresh fruit. Crit is a town very similar to Viscri, but with a much shorter road from DN and incomparably better. Obviously, the central and highly sought-after piece is the Crit Fortified Church. As soon as you take the road from DN to the first intersection, turn right, then again at the first intersection, turn right on a small footbridge. You can reach the base of the church by car. There are some cobblestone steps to climb, then there is the entrance. The church is built in the same specific Saxon way, and inside there were all kinds of handicrafts or not, to buy. I don't know if the church is organized like this only during Haferland Week. In fact, as I later read, Haferland Week is organized in several Saxon towns by a businessman, who wants to bring to light the old customs and traditions. If you pass by on the road between Brasov and Sighisoara, it is good to reserve at least an hour to visit. The Saxon villages have a positive energy, they seem to fill you with peace and joy.
