Just outside the entrance to this place, along the dirt road, they positioned a self service boiled farm eggs station. Help yourself, pay by donation. This is a great initiative and a very nice surprise for pilgrims on the Via di Francesco, especially if you continue walking and don’t stay here.

A paradise designed by a true pilgrim for pilgrims. A picturesque oasis with very comfortable rooms, a kitchen that is filled with the essentials to prepare a meal and a host happy to shop for the guests for whatever is needed or provide them with dinner. There is a hammock in the living room, a fireplace, and windows everywhere. Finally as there is very little light pollution this is a wonderful place to see the stars and milky way. I definitely recommend staying here.

You will love Casalotto Francescano, I spent one night here and it was a beautiful experience. I am so happy we are able to find this place, I can’t say enough about Luca and his family and the way they treated us. He had everything we needed to cook our meal, another hiker from Germany stayed over and he even had beers from all over the world. The view surrounding is just spectacular, please take a picture there. We spent few nights in other B&B along the Francigena way but Casalotto was by far the best one.
