Grillo Iole

We did a wine tasting at a charming little family-owned winery in Prepotto (in Friuli Italy near the Slovenian border). It was FABULOUS. One of the other visitors with us on our tasting who is quite knowledgeable on wines claimed he was astounded by the quality of their Fruliano.The Sauvignon and Schiopettino were also excellent. If you are visiting this area, I highly encourage you to spend a few hours here. We had a delightful frittata and charcuterie platter along with the tasting. This is a winery to look for!

You can stop looking, you found it… At Grillo Iole we tasted, toured and talked our way through a golden afternoon on the day before the season’s first harvest. Even with a busy vineyard to deal with, we were treated to a relaxed and friendly experience focussed on their wine that was nothing less than extraordinary. This whole area is wonderful, not to be missed. Explore and enjoy!!!

We got a tour of the winery, along with a wine tasting. As a plus, the tour was offered in both English and Italian. The people (and dogs) were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this place for a chill experience and delicious wines!
