This is the First Palanga Pharmacy and it was here that the production of the bitter “Trejos devynerios” was started. This pharmacy is also unique in that even during the prohibition of the Lithuanian language in Latin characters, the labels of medicines were printed in Lithuanian. This fact can be explained primarily by the desire of the pharmacy owners to maintain Lithuanianness. For many years, the Palanga Pharmacy had its own trademark – “Raudonā raktā”, which was placed on the labels of medicines sold here. The building of the Palanga Pharmacy has a lasting historical and architectural value. On May 28, 1992, it was entered into the register of state-protected cultural values. Its number on the list of cultural monuments of the Republic of Lithuania is AtV278, and the unique code of the object is 1295.

"The old pharmacy of Palanga, established in 1827, has a long and complex history, which includes both bright and dark pages. Its founder and first owner, a German from Riga, Wilhelm Johann Grüning, patented the production of the original 27-herb extract "Trejos devynerios"" - I found this description after googling. You go to the pharmacy like you would to a museum: ancient apothecaries, other pharmacy tools. The hanging crocodile was a bit surprising. Maybe someone knows its history?

We stay at the Guest House twice a year. The administrator of this house, Ms. Daiva, is a tireless bee. Her smile and service culture simply make you not look anywhere else, but come back to the same Guest House. Good luck, Ms. Daiva, and I say see you next summer. Marija.
