This is not campsite or farm review just the village, one of most beautiful in the lakes but as others have said ruined by people not respecting our planet or other people . Campsite closed by police by what was going on there . Surroundings amazing in depth of valley probably miserable in winter to live here but wonderful for a visit and a walk and maybe a dip . But please use public lavatory’s ,keep place clean ,be quiet for those fortunate or unfortunate to live in such a super place so more people can enjoy this natural beauty spot . It is also a deed end as you can see by the signpost so please park outside and walk into village or park in designated spaces

I arrived at the campsite in a stock Vauxhall Astra, accompanied by a lowered short-wheelbase van and two medium-wheelbase vans, forming a four-vehicle convoy. The access road proved difficult for any vehicle, and my car's underside repeatedly scraped against protruding rocks, boulders, and trees. (Apparently, the farmer usually smooths out the road, but he didn't do it this season). Fortunately, we didn't encounter any oncoming traffic since there were no passing points. Upon finally reaching the campsite, one of the vans nearly got stuck in a bog, but we eventually managed to find our spot. If you're looking for an off-grid experience, this place is ideal. We had sufficient drinking water and supplies, but note that there's no drinking water available on site. There is easy access to the river for filling up water filtration bottles if necessary. The toilets are within walking distance, but the lights are on a three-second sensor, so bring a torch! There are no showers, and the bins appeared to be overflowing, suggesting they aren't emptied frequently. In the evening, a man came around claiming to be associated with the campsite, although he wasn't wearing a uniform or anything identifiable, and asked for £10 per person. The next morning, we chose to leave via an "access road" (a waterlogged field) that leads to the pub (closed on Mondays). This route was much easier and didn't scrape the vans as much as the entrance road did.

The most beautiful campsite I’ve ever visited. Set in a valley by the side of the river it is so unbelievably picturesque. The chap who collected the pitch fee (£10 per person per night) each evening was very friendly and personable. The toilet block was clean and functional and washing up facilities are provided too. The following comments are just some points to consider, by no means complaints. No mobile signal in the valley. There is WiFi at the nearby pub. Lots of midges following wet weather - bring bug spray and/or citronella candles. Cash only - no idea where the nearest cash machine is. Choose your pitch wisely. I was by the tree line and the midges were definitely worse there than more open areas. I would highly recommend hiring or bringing a raised, metal fire pit, not only does this add to your camping experience but the smoke keeps the midges away. The short drive from the pub to the campsite could be difficult for some vehicles. Especially if the vehicle has low suspension. I will 100% be back again.
