Abbey Farm House

Loved our stay here for a family birthday. Relaxed house with lots to do for adults and kids, including hot tub, pool table and darts. Excellent kitchen, well equipped and plenty parking. The owners were very friendly, easy to communicate with and on hand for any queries. One of the beds was overly squeaky and one of the showers was intermittent with it's temperature but all manageable for a long weekend.

Absolutely loved this property. It is something similar to what we normally book on holidays trips into the French countryside. Communication from the host was fabulous. The home also came with plenty amenities, entertainment and a very helpful guest handbook with the right information for any visitor to the area. Definitely recommend it.

The location is lovely and perfect for those walking Hadrian’s wall. The rooms are clean and we even had a very welcome bathtub in our en-suite. However….. We met a very different Charlotte to the one praised in the other reviews. We were made to feel very awkward and unwelcome (and this was the most expensive stay of our wall-walk). We were forced to socialise with the other guests at one communal table (after an extremely tiring day of walking), and even banned from having our phones on the table at dinner time. The menu and mealtimes were non negotiable, and we were reminded repeatedly that we were in her home. This was a very ugly experience for the both of us.
