The Beach At Bude

The location is perfect- right to the beach and only a short walk into town. The hotel has a modern style, which we really liked. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The restaurant, The Elephant's, serves very good food and great cocktails. The service there was friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a modern and comfortable place to stay.

We have been to the Beach five times I think now. Have loved each visit that's why we've returned. This time Friday 7th November we arrived to find a lady on her own at reception where we waited maybe 10 minutes before being given our key. She did not seem as friendly and inviting as the usual two ladies we have seen each time on reception. We had room 7 my sister had room 1. Both rooms had paint missing on their wall's... Room 7's sink also wasn't draining away properly, so went and mentioned this but it was still the same when we left this morning (Sunday). The breakfast was beautiful yet again... yet the lady that served us leaned in front of us, passing me my plate with breakfast on it. Then cleaning up asking me to pass my plate, when I personally thought she could have waited until we'd left the table. And no, the restaurant wasn't full and dishes need (I assume) as we had our breakfasts at 8am so were the first to be sat. Like I said originally, we have been here a few times, even came in July/August this year. But felt a little disappointed this weekend as we'd taken my sister and brother in law after telling them what a fantastic place. For the first time I thought it felt a little tired and not worth the money.

The lady on reception was amazing, really helpful and professional, the room, evening meal and breakfast was seamless, with our breakfast table all set up by the window with our room number and orange juice ready to go… probably the best overall hotel experience so far… we will be staying there again.
