Sport & Spa Hotel Strass

Great location right next to Penken lift it’s fantastic for ski access. Our service was phenomenal from Zivan he could not be more attentive and always had a smile. Breakfast and salad bar at dinner were the same each day but still had a good variety of choice and the main meals were enjoyable - I believe the food was good quality and we enjoyed every meal. Room was very very warm but clean and had all the facilities you would need. The hotel offers a ski guide Stocky who takes you around nearby mountains for the day, this was our favourite day of the week his service, knowledge and experience was fantastic. Absolutely would recommend.

Very Disappointing – Outdated, Poor Amenities, and Not for Early Skiers ​ ​I am currently staying at the Hotel Strass for a week of skiing, and unfortunately, the experience has been a major letdown. While the hotel markets itself heavily, the reality of the stay does not live up to the price point or the rating. ​The Room & Comfort ​We booked a 3-person Junior Suite, but calling it a suite is a stretch. The third "bed" is actually a pull-out couch which is incredibly uncomfortable to sleep on for an entire week. Additionally: ​The rooms are very outdated. ​There are no coffee or tea facilities in the room. ​The TV is tiny and the AC/Climate control is non-existent. ​ ​As someone who likes to wake up early, this hotel is a suitable. ​There is no coffee available for early birds; you need to wait until 7:30 AM just to get a caffeine fix. ​Breakfast is incredibly basic: Just eggs, beans, and bacon/sausage. There are almost no fresh options or salads available. ​The Bottom Line ​The only upside to this hotel is the location—it is undeniably close to the gondola. However, location doesn't make up for poor sleep and lack of basic service. ​I would not recommend this hotel, and I certainly will not be returning.

Hotel Stress was a fantastic place to stay for our ski trip this Christmas. The staff at reception are polite and extremely helpful with settling you in for your stay. The hotel itself is located less than a minute from the cable car which made it really easy to carry our skis and get on the mountain early, with no long journey back in the evening. There were also brand new ski lockers in the hotel. We stayed full-board where the food was amazing every day, with a great range of salads and courses to pick from. One of the days we tried out the nearby asian restaurant 'Nami' which was great, and there is also a lively cocktail bar/pizza restaurant within the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, from the easy access to the mountain, to relaxing in the spa every evening, I couldn't recommend this place enough for a ski trip in Mayrhofen.
