Campeggio Obelisco

We stayed two nights here which was the perfect location for visiting Trieste. We arrived in the middle with no advance booking and we were made to feel very welcome. We had the perfect spot not too far from a very clean and warm shower block! There appear to be a lot of permanent vans here and it seems busy but the site have some positive rules and regulations to ensure you have a good stay, including detailed instructions on how to get to the centre of Trieste by bus. We thought the price for two nights in the middle of November of €51 was good value as we had electric hook up, water and good amenities. There is a restaurant but we didn’t try it. If travelling in a van and want to explore Trieste we’d recommend this place!

We stayed here for just 1 night and we didn't expect much as there are so many negative reviews. But we were pleasantly surprised. Facts - it s not luxurious and they say ao on their website. 80% of people there are permanent residents. - if you re there for 1 night you get put by the entrance next to the reception. By the road yes but it s a no through so it s not a problem. - toilets and showers are adequate and clean. There s no toilet paper and they do they so on their website as people keep stealing it. - it s up a short steep road but nothing a camper can't handle. We have a 6m60 and it was not a problem. - there s no such thing as a - hole in the ground- as mentioned by someone else for a toilet. It s a squatting toilet and next to it there s a normal toilet so you have the choice. It s not a 5 star and if it s what people expect that where they should go. We found it quaint and interesting. The people at reception were also very nice. Also stunning views over Trieste.

Campsite located in the hills above Trieste. Under the trees, it's cool off-season. Restaurant, toilet, shower, dishwashing area, and laundry room. Bus and tram stop nearby. Friendly welcome. Location a bit steep.
