We had a wonderful time at Family Hotel Lagant. Everything about our stay was full of personal touches, events, fantastic food, and plenty of snow sports as the location is meters from the lift. Our kids had a blast in the play and swim areas as well. Truly a great experience, especially for the holidays.

Subject: Disappointing 4-star experience: A maze of stairs and unmet expectations Overall Impression & Accessibility If you have any mobility issues or struggle with stairs, this is not the place for you. The hotel layout is like a maze with no elevator access between key areas. To get from the lobby to the restaurant, you must navigate 5 minutes of stairs. Even a simple post-dinner drink at the bar feels like a workout. For a 4-star establishment, this lack of accessibility is unacceptable. Rooms & Housekeeping The rooms are very basic and lack the decor or warmth you’d expect from a resort; it feels more like a hostel. Under the guise of "sustainability," no slippers are provided, so you must bring your own. The hotel desperately needs to review the quality of its bedding. The pillows were either completely collapsed and flat or filled with hard, lumpy material that felt like small stones, making them impossible to sleep on. Additionally, while housekeeping is hardworking, I found it intrusive that my personal pajamas were used to create decorative shapes on the bed. I would appreciate it if staff did not touch personal belongings. Dining Experience The buffet layout for both breakfast and dinner is poorly organized, leading to frustrating flow. • Breakfast: The coffee is very weak, and the selection is identical every single day. After a week, it becomes difficult to find anything appetizing. • Dinner: The "themed" nights lack execution. On Italian night, the pasta was overcooked and tasteless (though the fresh pizza was a small saving grace). The "Asian" night was equally disappointing. The desserts are consistently oversweet—I wonder if the chef notices the high amount of food waste. • The dining experience was so underwhelming that we even considered going out for dinner instead, which is disappointing for a half-board stay. Also, for a family hotel, the lack of ice cream to treat the children is surprising. Facilities & Wellness The "Wellness" concept here is misleading. The pool is small and the water is freezing—my child, who usually loves swimming, refused to go back after one try. Furthermore, the massage service is outsourced; you have to pay the therapist in cash directly, making it feel like the hotel is merely renting out a room rather than providing a service. Also, the indoor playground is not very clean; I recommend bringing extra socks or indoor shoes for your kids. Location & Parking The only real advantage is the location, as you can sled directly back to the hotel. However, the hotel sits on a steep slope, which is very slippery on snowy days—watch your step. Parking is entirely outdoors, which is a hassle in the snow. There is only one slow EV charger per building, which is often blocked by non-electric cars due to limited space. Conclusion This hotel falls far short of 4-star standards. Between the accessibility issues, mediocre food, and subpar facilities, I would not recommend it for a relaxing family vacation.

The staff were amazing, and the facilities are great for the kids. Perfect stays for young families. Great location. Good for a relaxing skiing/snowboarding/sledging getaway with the family (don't expect anything challenging on the piste). Exceed our expectations. Thank you Sonja and the team.
