Harbour view cottage

Where do I start. What a gem! Lovely friendly couple who work hard and put their all into the place. We felt like home and loved the house. The rooms were charming and what a lovely garden of theirs. Great views of course as the location! The breakfast is fab! Special place. Really recommend.

Stay started off ok... We originally booked a room we could take the dog with us. We checked it was all still okay to bring the pet. Ron was kind enough to "allow us"to bring the pet for an extra fee. We have someone with a medi card chronic pain. Through out our stay we made sure this was concealed as much as possible. As we went to leave and finish backing up Ron decided to walk into the bedroom while we was still in there unannounced. A big NO! Please don't ever walking into guest room with out permission it's intimidating and unprofessional! It's clear Ron has an issue with the smell of the medication and throughout it would be ok to confront us while still being in the room. Totally understand the issue how ever this is LEGAL. More than happy to talk and explain as it's a new thing in the uk. How ever Ron decided to call us "naughty" and disrespectful. (We are both grown adults). And mentioned how good he has been to us. Must agree yes Ron you was good. But it was paid for and there is a level of service expected for the price. Would like to see host become more up to date with rules and regulations. And not walking into occupied rooms unannounced. No smoking near or in property and would never do this as we have a pet aswell.

We found a gem in Clovelly. The village itself we found amazing and our accommodation was too, Harbour View Cottage B&B. Rod and Michelle made us very welcome and Rod’s cooked breakfast is delicious. Our double room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and fantastic views over the harbour. We will definitely be returning to Clovelly and to Harbour View Cottage.
