Glaramara Hotel

As one would expect of such an establishment, the staff were all very proffesional and friendly. However, one member of our group was a fussy eater. His father asked if they would do him beans on toast as a breakfast alternative, but on this matter they were not very accommodating and would not break from their rigid schedule. This came across as rather petty, especially as they could have easily provided this particular dish. The hotel itself is fairly quiet and not much happens during the evening. The bar usually shuts around 10pm, so if you want a bit of night life I suggest you get a taxi into Keswick. The meals here are very nice but expensive. There is also limited parking space so make sure you get there early. However, during busy periods the hotel will let you park on the grass. In all my experience here was positive but I personally would have preferred somewhere more lively.

We had a fabulous stay. Evening meal was absolutely delicious. Staff was friendly. Room was quite small and we could hear the chatter from the lounge downstairs but it didn't bother us. The bed was very comfortable, our room had a lovely shower and we had HUGE soft fluffy bath towels. Hot chocolate in our room was a lovely treat. Avoid bringing big suitcases as the room is tight and there are lots of stairs.

Good food, good staff and service. The room I had was a bit small, but for the price I can't complain and the bathroom was modern and the water hot! It's a short walk to many good peaks and walks, and the hotel itself is in a picturesque spot, so even just sitting on the deck and having a coffee is very pleasant.
