Il Sorriso di Vernazza - Pensione Sorriso

During our January visit to Italy we decided to do a quick train ride overnight to Cinque Terre. When trying to book a room in November the ONLY hotel available was Pensione Sorriso in Vernazza. We didn't know what to expect but boy were we pleasantly surprised. As others here have mentioned, we had Evelyn as our host..what a warm welcoming person she was for us 2 lost Americans. Her and her crew in the restaurant were so nice. The food was good and the renovated room we had was outstanding. It is true that when running the train can be a little loud but it's loud anywhere in Vernazza. We also witnessed a situation where someone left an article of clothing there which included important personal items that could have ruined a vacation if left in the wrong hands but they simply held the item until the group returned looking for it and saved the day for this traveler. Just one night but this place gave us a terrific memory during out stay in Italy!!!

Wow, talk about hitting the jackpot! I picked this hotel randomly given its price range. This location is right near the train station but far enough to not hear the noises. The host was extremely friendly and through. They even had my room ready on early when I asked if they could hold my bags on arrival. The place was clean imo, even though the hostess was apologing for the mess while they were getting things ready. I got free champagne, they offered complimentary drinks, and included breakfast. All hotel details were provided, including check out time, and the hostess carried my bags to the room. The location has a beautiful small restaurant and Cafe downstairs, making it easy to get a bite to eat. The room has a view with lots of sunlight. For the price, location. And service, this is a no brainer.

Our stay here was incredible! The staff are so generous, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and coffee were amazing! And you cannot beat the location. Vernazza is such a cute village and this hotel is perfectly situated right beside the train station and just up the hill from the sea. Perfect for accessing all the towns/hikes in this region. The bed was comfortable, our room had air conditioning (huge bonus) and we even got upgraded to have an ensuite. I cannot recommend this place enough!
