Loretta was absolutely amazing, I arrived tired, been doing the via Francigena, she kindly provided me with a soup, beer was in the fridge and she was brought wine. The house is incredible, her energy is enchanting. Breakfast was big, loved it. Highly reccomend, amazing lake views from the terrace. Thank you Loretta and Farouk ( the lovely dog)❤️❤️❤️

For pelligreni on the Via Francigena, B&B Villa Emilia 1899 in Roppolo is the ideal place to stay since the Via passes directly past this delightful accommodation. (However, if you are driving, there is parking in front) Host, Loretta, is just so lovely, engaging and welcoming. Well travelled herself, her villa has been tastefully renovated and contains colourful mementos throughout which reflects her vibrant and outgoing personality. One of the rooms had "Juliette balcony" and you lake views from the balcony on the top level. Roppolo is a delightful little village, with a trattoria and pasticceria, and it's only a short walk to the Lake Viverone shoreline for a spritz, antipasto or bite to eat. Loretta not only offered to cook for us (the trattoria was closed for Ferie during our visit) but also offered to drive us to the Lake Viverone foreshore which is only a kilometre away though is within walking distance from her villa. She even arranged for our luggage transfer. This place and it's host is an absolute gem and is a far better alternative to Viverone for accommodation on the Via Francigena.

Loretta was a very gracious host and welcomed us like we were old friends. The room we stayed in was very charming full of art from Loretta’s travels. Breakfast was delicious and very generous in a special room in her garden. Highly recommend staying at B&B villa Emilia!
