A l'Hostellerie Du Paradis

During our Christmas holiday stay at A l'Hostellerie Du Paradis. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, it offers easy access to numerous hiking trails, perfect for exploring nature's wonders. The local cuisine served at the hotel's restaurant delighted our taste buds with its authentic flavors. However, despite the cozy ambiance, we found the heating in our room inadequate, as was always cold. Despite this drawback, the hotel's charm and surroundings make it a best-buy choice for nature enthusiasts seeking an Alpine retreat.

I read some other reviews and there are a lot of complaints about a woman at the reception that is unfriendly. To us, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I don’t know who the ‘unfriendly’ woman is supposed to be, but we were met with a smile at the reception. Not saying other people are lying of course. The rooms were great, the bed was comfy and we each got a private bathroom. There is a lounge area and a pool table, as well as free wifi that worked good. To us, dinner was tasty and plentiful, the staff again helpful, though not everyone spoke good english, which was no problem, because you can understand each other even if you don’t speak the same language. Breakfast was also really good and there was a lot of variety. I think this was a nice place to stay, would stay again!

I can wholeheartedly recommend this place for people aiming to summit Gran Paradiso! As the whole valley was basically closed in the off-season (early November) I was very welcome, had a great stay and really delicious food. The prices have been reasonable and the service was top notch.
