The hotel location is perfect, all the staff were very kind. Rooms are old looking, mine has a lot of stains on the wall and ceiling from earlier water problems. Bed is comfortable but not too wide. My biggest concern was the sewer smell in the bathroom, everyday.

I was here for a multiple day conference, not sleeping here, but some colleagues were unlucky enough to have a room here. The entire hotel is in need of a refurbishment. The conference centre and hotel are part of a church (diocesan) centre, and the main auditorium has a huge Jesus statue next to the stage which is, at the least, improper for any conference that is non-religious, and the seats and floor are worn out. The rest of the meeting/conference rooms are similarly worn out and distributed on 4 levels, which makes it inconvenient to switch between rooms. The lunch/dining area had malfunctioning AC so it was unbearably hot. There is an outdoor terrace with broken tiles, even dangerous holes, and old plastic chairs. The view isn't great, as despite the location on the river, the landscape is littered by concrete and rundown buildings. The bathroom are sometimes broken and all worn out. All internal furniture looks from the 70s-80s, not in a good way. People sleeping here complained of poor noise insulation, worn out utilities and bathrooms, smelly rooms. There is a bus connection to Porto centre, otherwise it's a 40 minute walk and not too pleasant. I do not recommend this hotel/conference centre to anyone.

Lovely hotel, very spacious, confortable and a walking distance to city center. Great breakfast too. Recommended
