Kåppas Cabin Village

The price to clean the cabin is intense, but they're great! They do provide all the cleaning supplies to make to job easy. They also don't advertise the best part, which is the view! I'm surprised they don't feature it more!

My experience here in late Feburary was great! The cabins were cozy, nice and comfortable. The kitchen was acceptable and the pots and pans were clean before we used them. Though there isnt much of a view from inside my cabin, a short walk to the outdoors gives you a breathtaking view of the lake. We also saw auroras on our visit here. My only problem is that the steps to our cabin had developed a very thick layer of ice that we kept slipping on while leaving and entering our cabin.

We booked the "luxe" chalet for 230 euros. (Anything else was unavailable). You have to park a little bit further and walk to the chalet. We had a snowstorm so the snowy road was hard to go through with luggage. Beautiful views from the cabin (when good weather). We came inside and the entrance hall was renovated with a sauna for the fans. The rest of the house was old and not cosy at all. Kitchen is renovated and was comfortable to use with enough equipment for 2 persons. Bathroom is old (but functional). But not like the pictures on the website. The sofa in the living room is not comfortable. TV is a bit unhandy placed in a corner. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The cheap flat pillows need to be replaced. We asked if we could have better pillows and someone came to deliver them (they were slighty better). We were thankful for the service. The blackout system on the window didn't work properly. For that amount of money that is asked, the cabin needs to get a full renovation and some decoration to make it more cosy. The word "luxe" is not in his place. You get a paper with all the cleaning things you have to do or you will be charged 250 euros. That's not really welcoming. When we wanted to leave the cabin for check-out. The road to the house was cleaned but the snow was all threw in front of our door (it was the end of the road). We were struggling to get out for 15 minutes. We know it's hard to get rid of all the snow, but just not in front of a door? All by all: the hotel service is great, but the cabins are not in good condition and it's too expensive for what you get.
