Well, this really didn't work out. The owner, Mrs. Helena Martincová, is not shy about overselling accommodation to more interested parties. In practice, it looks like this: you book an apartment on the ground floor, pay a deposit of 2000 CZK. All this several months in advance. A few days before your stay, you make sure that everything is valid. You look forward to your stay. Then you arrive at the place and find out that someone else is already in your apartment. The owner offers you an apartment in their house (in the neighborhood), which you did not book. The price remains the same. We were really unpleasantly surprised by the whole thing. The apartment offered is in retro condition, with a musty smell after winter. As a bonus, you get a bottle of champagne. Apparently to make up for it. Our family is disappointed, our son was looking forward to the piano that was in the photos of the promised apartment on the ground floor. He also took the sheet music with him so that he could play it for us every day. After a short discussion with the family, we leave, we are not willing to tolerate such behavior. Disappointed. Unfortunately, the owners are more interested in money, they prefer to give the promised apartment to a larger clientele (although they will register for the stay after you). Our family of three has been sidelined. Although it was 8:30 PM (we arrived at the place at 7:45 PM, the negotiations took some time), we packed our bags and left for our cottage, another two hours away by car. The owners realized their mistake and finally apologized. However, it is inexcusable for us. However, we will not let Easter 2025 be spoiled and we will rather spend it elsewhere and differently. If you (like me) found the accommodation on the e-chalupy portal, know that the occupancy (data in the occupancy calendar) does not correspond to reality. The owners probably do not update the calendar at all. I don't want to believe that there was any intention behind this? :-D Although we had paid a deposit of 2,000 CZK, it didn't appear in the calendar at all that the apartment on the ground floor we had booked was already occupied. Apparently so that other interested parties could apply, from which the owners would then choose the largest group to accommodate. Yes, the price depends on the number of people accommodated. I would also like to tell users of the e-chalupy portal that it is pointless to write any reviews about the property on e-chalupy (and this applies to any property). On the e-chalupy portal, the owner chooses which reviews to publish and which not. It doesn't work like, for example, Booking, where whatever you write is published. There are no reviews for this property in Machov, what a surprise :-) Pí Martincová told us on the spot that this is how it usually works: she promises and gets the apartment paid for and then accommodates the interested party elsewhere. Unacceptable to me!!
