Maslo

This was our favorite guesthouse on the Peaks of the Balkans trail! The owner was such a sweet and accommodating man, he allowed us to tent outside the establishment while still giving us access to the toilets and even a shower! We joined other travelers for a delicious traditional meal served on a short table as we gathered around on pillows to enjoy the meal! The food was out of this world.. honestly some of the best food we had in Montenegro, and the owner told us that all the recipes were what he grew up with! We else had breakfast and a take away lunch for the trail! All around it was a warm, memorable experience that we will carry with us forever! Thank you, thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Maslo is absolutely worth your stay. We paid 45 euros per person for a private room and three meals, and it was one of the nicest places on the Peaks of the Balkans trail. Given that there are much more "modest" inns for the same price, the value for money is excellent here. The hospitality of Jamil, Janan and Esma is wonderful. This place took four years to build, but you can see their pride in the handmade wooden furniture, and feel their joy in their conversations. Food here is nourishing and tasty in a way that city food isn't, probably because everything is homemade and seems to be sourced locally. We were a little surprised by the soft pinkness of the chicken, but we learned this is natural for organic Real™️ chickens, and we didn't feel the slightest hint of sickness either. They had bountiful coffee, "grandma cake" and even a homemade Nutella-like spread. This place is a labour of love. I don't normally write reviews, but if you find yourself in need of an amazing refuge, Maslo's will make you feel right at home. Satisfied every hierarchy of my needs.

The food was absolutely perfect, and the rooms looked amazing – clean, comfortable, and beautifully arranged. One of the highlights was the homemade yogurt with blueberries – it was simply delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!
