The Gattringer guesthouse is always worth a visit. I'm happy to make the 5-hour drive. A very nice and friendly family. I felt very comfortable here 👍

If you can avoid it, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you book a room at the Gattringer guesthouse in Kematen, Tyrol! The value for money is abysmal. Mrs. Gattringer, who runs and manages the guesthouse, is the most unfriendly person I've met in a long time, and she has absolutely no concept of privacy, as she simply barges into the room whenever she wants something! I am disappointed and very angry after this stay. At a price of €90 per night, you don't expect a luxury hotel, but you do expect a certain minimum of amenities in the room, such as a bathroom and soap! The "bathroom" consisted of a tiny, barely functioning shower and a sink in the middle of the room, separated from the bed only by a fabric curtain. Soap? Forget it. Check-out times are usually between 11:00 and 12:00 with a grace period of 30-60 minutes. Not at the Gattringer guesthouse. There, you have to leave the room at exactly 10:00! At precisely that time, Mrs. Gattringer was standing at the door, banging like a madwoman, and then simply barged into the room. Luckily, we were already dressed. From that moment on, while we were getting ready and packing, she walked around the room, already starting to tidy up and strip the bed, all the while complaining that she was in a hurry. She also couldn't resist complaining that the carpet was damp—in the rush, we knocked over a glass of water that still had a few drops in it... All in all, a terrible, far too expensive stay. We will NEVER again choose the Gattringer guesthouse.
