Vila Galé Collection Tomar

Excellent hotel. Room very spacious, well decorated and serviced. Table and 2 upholstered chairs, bathrobes, slippers, safe, mini fridge. Coffee machine on request. Spa with indoor pool superb, gym, steam room and sauna. Very good breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order as is fresh juice. Entire place seemed supremely clean.

I stayed at the Vila Galé Collection in Tomar and had a pleasant experience. The staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast offered a good selection with fresh options, a nice way to start the day. The building and setting have a lot of charm, which adds something special to the stay. On the downside, the pools only open at 9 am. It would be much better if they opened earlier, as a morning swim before breakfast would really improve the experience.

Rooms were normal, not special but they have working AC. The only complaint, which was not fault of the hotel itself, was the noise coming from on bar nearby. They had loud music playing until 1AM. The rooms are not noisy but on could still hear the bass. Overall the facilities are quite nice (I didn't check the indoor spa area) but the outside pool was very pleasant. There are not many lounge chairs by the pool so it can get busy if the hotel is full and the weather is nice. Breakfast was okay but I would have expected some more variety of cheese and cured meats. In Portugal we have such a variety, but unfortunately the just had the basic. Location is great, very close to the historical center, next to the river and a park. I would rate it as slightly overpriced for that they provide, but it is borderline in my opinion. Price/quality ratio could be better, but it's not bad.
