This past September, my wife and I stayed for 14 days at the Cecco di Nara. They were the 14 most relaxing days of our Italian vacation. Alessio, the manager, speaks very good English, and is most forthcoming in addressing his guests' needs. The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean and the room was equipped with a full kitchen. They provided and maintained a coffe-maker with a full supply of coffee pods, croissants, milk and juice. There is a very nice supermarket, called Penny Market, with a wide variety of food and drinks, just some 5-10 minutes away walking or few minutes by car. If you don't wish to eat out every night (Italians restaurants start serving at 7:30PM) you can prepare your own meal. Alessio and his mother, Madalena went the extra mile, helping us to find real good 100% Extra Virgin Italian olive oil, purchasing train tickets, etc. We had some long conversations with Alessio. Madalena, and the family about history, culture, Italian cuisine, so much so that we felt as if we were part of the family. The family used to run an excellent restaurant but it is no longer there. The family closed the restaurant for financial reasons and opened in its stead a bonbonniere- a lovely bridal gift shop, which we also recommend. If you are without a car, there are bus stops right in front of the B&B that will take you either to Lucca, or (across the street) to Viareggio. Price per each night was quite reasonable. We will most definitely come back to Cecco di Nara in r next trip to Italy.

Pleasant stay and a great location to visit places in the surrounding area. The hosts (Alessio and Chiara) were very nice, welcoming and helpful. They suggested places that we can visit and where we can eat. The room was quite spacious and clean and the area was quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious and part of it home-made. Strongly recommended if you are looking for a place to stay in Massarosa.
