Domacija & Apartmaji Katrnjek, Gostinstvo Jaka Kusterle S.P.

This was a random find on short notice, but the pictures are truly accurate. The owner, Jaka, is a wood artist, and it really shows — the alpine-style wooden house feels like a handmade work of art. The apartment house comprises four units across two stories. We stayed in the upper unit, which had a nice view toward the Vogel ski resort. There are also two house cats (imagine Garfield's size .. 😄😸) who immediately made it clear they own the place — the kids loved them.

Once again, i am torn between 4 and 5 stars as a review. Jakas incredible friendliness and helpfulness as well as the clean cozy appartment itself speak clearly for 5 stars. If you are booking, take at least once the breakfast, it is very, very good! However, there are some (minor) points I noted. But please, do not overinterprete, it is complaining on a high level: 1. In summer it gets very hot and there is no AC, also the Ventilation in the bathroom is a little outdated. Installation of modern technolgy would be helping here to get from very good to outstanding. 2. For sensitive noses, it is not ideal, that it smells like cigarette smoke inside the downstairs area. When opening the door, it gets also a little bit into the (smokefree) upstairs room. 3. At night and morning time, it is not as silent in the small village as we imagined. But there is not much Jaka can do about it, just a little warning to people who want to have the "end of the World silence experience". Maybe it was also just bad luck for us. Overall, we can definitely recommend to book here if you are in the area (just look at all of the good other reviews).

Wow!!! Jaka is simply the best host!!! 🤩🤩🤩 he is making everything possible, he prepares the best breakfast and really cares about his hosts and people visiting! We enjoyed our one week stay sooo much! 🥹👍🏼
