Big Berries Farm Camping

45 Years of Family Tradition… We’ve been camping at Big Berries for over 45 years, and it remains a truly special place. Nestled on the stunning Golden Cap estate, this peaceful, sea-view pitch offers raw beauty, simple joys. While the wider site has become more commercial in recent years—with rentals and static caravans—Big Berries has kept its natural charm. It’s still the wild, spacious, no-frills camping we fell in love with decades ago. It’s just a 10-minute walk along the bridleway to Seatown Beach, with its stony Jurassic shoreline perfect for swimming, mackerel fishing, and fossil hunting. The Anchor Inn sits right by the beach for food and local ales, and the South West Coast Path leads you to Golden Cap—the highest point on the south coast. There’s also a convenient on-site SPAR shop for essentials but cars by the tents also makes for popping to local bakeries easy too! Facilities have improved over time. After 40 years, we’re thrilled there are finally toilets in the field! A short walk away you’ll also find showers, laundry (charges apply), hairdryers, ironing boards, and a freezer for ice blocks. Arrival is easy with the new ANPR barrier. Check-in is from 1pm, so we get to set up camp each time easily before sundown Beyond the beach and cliffs, the surrounding area is full of relaxing spots and local gems to discover—perfect for slow mornings, cream teas, and seaside exploring. Big Berries is camping at its best: timeless, grounding, and full of heart. We’ll keep coming back as long as we can.

Great location, feels like it is a hidden hideaway. Facilities are also very modern, though not maintained daily. My only negative is they need to peg out the tent sites, as one day it was too crowded

Loved this campsite! Such a great location with brilliant facilities for us and our little one. Walking distance to a beautiful pebble beach and an awesome pub! Can’t wait to come back.
