Scandic Leknes Lofoten Hotel

We stayed at Scandic Leknes Lofoten Hotel for a few nights. The beds were very comfortable and the maid service was great. The hotel was centrally located and an easy walk to restaurants and the grocery store. I have to mention this point: there is no electric outlet in the bathroom! So, while a hairdryer is provided, you have to leave the bathroom to plug into the outlet next to the bed where there is no mirror. The breakfast buffet was had a nice selection of foods and it was all fresh and dry.

Lovely hotel, with history. It was brought here after the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. Serves breakfast and dinner. I especially liked the breakfast. Kind and likeable staff, comfortable beds and hot showers. Walkable to restaurants and stores in town. Short taxi ride from the Leknes airport. Note: no elevator, only stairs to the second floor. We saw northern lights from the parking lot (March 2026).

Gracious and helpful front office staff and the chef?!? Fabulous! The codfish was of the best I’ve sampled anywhere in the world, no exaggeration. Pastries, selected fruit and coffee on hand all day but check dinner roster - some nights are not available. Breakfast more than adequate. A quaint place to wait on the northern lights, highly recommend with a special word of appreciation for the tireless Sylvi at reception.
