Recently stayed here for my anniversary, safe to say we won’t be returning. The food is expensive for what it is… £36 for cooked breakfast and a cup of tea. ( added picture of breakfast and my boyfriend steak dinner which was £17.95 with a small basket of chips which followed later) Pros : the views from room 2 were beautiful and the garden room have dinner and watching the sunset was amazing. Staff were friendly CONS: room 2 was so hot but couldn’t open windows as been screwed shut. My boyfriend went to go out at 21:00 to get something out of the car, to find the hotel was in complete darkness and we was locked in, No staff to be found. At 23:00 he went down to try and see if there was a way out. To find other guests banging on the main door trying to gain access to the hotel. Managed to unbolt doors and get out, to which my boyfriend ended up seeing confirmation of booking from men standing outside and letting them in. To which they just grabbed any keys and went and found a room. Still no staff no contact number nothing. It is a shame as the hotel looked beautiful and is in a lovely part of Cornwall

We had a carvery last Sunday. The food was dry and only warm. And when the lad brought more roast potatoes in and they wouldn't shake off the tray he used his nails to dislodge them. Thankfully it didn't work and he threw the tray on the floor. Won't go there again .

Visited Widemouth Manor recently to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. It was on a Sunday so we all chose the carvery. That was our first mistake. The roast beef was obviously a cheap cut of meat with fat running through it. It became apparent once we tried to cut through it (even when using steak knives)that it was also undercooked. The cauliflower in the cauliflower cheese was also undercooked as were the roast potatoes. We complained that it was overall a very disappointing meal. Which definitely put a dampener on celebrating my mum's special birthday. Although the staff were polite and the views beautiful as ever. It doesn't help when you can't eat the food. The manager was apologetic and gave a 20% discount and said it was a poor cut of meat. If you knew this and on looking at previous reviews it has happened before. So unless they make amendments with food quality and cooking ability. I would avoid and look elsewhere. Such a shame.
