A Riverside paradise. Can't describe it any other way.

A place to remember... These have been unforgettable days. Last December 2021, we experienced Galicia in its purest form... fog... cold... wind... rain... snow... among paths, rivers, forests, and nature in its purest state, in the Melide area. The Molino de Catasol is the place that meets all the necessary conditions for a short getaway... Unwind in a cozy place, and unbeatably well-located for organizing a visit to all of Galicia, whether nearby or even more distant if you have time, all right next to the town of Melide. A surprising area with plenty of small shops, supermarkets, pizzerias, grocery stores, and restaurants that provide a complete service for everything you might need. The accommodation is wonderful, with every detail, good taste, and functionality. All of this is set in a fairytale setting and in a privileged location, surrounded by trees and ferns, and filled with the murmur of the nearby river, whose power once moved the blades of the old mill. But don't think that old mill is far away... no, the owners of the property have managed to integrate it as part of the house and part of the dining room. So, while you listen to the crackling of the fire, you can contemplate, through a pair of small glass screens in the floor, the hypnotic flow of the river water through the skillfully woven channels beneath the house. It's like spending the night in a small museum frozen in time. A whole experience that brings you peace and quiet, so necessary these days. Everything else is up to par. The rooms aren't very large; they're not needed. They're on two levels and are cozy and tidy, making them easy to heat and a very comfortable sleep. The common areas. I've already mentioned that the dining room is like traveling back in time and finding yourself in the middle of the mill in the last century. In the kitchen... nothing else is needed, everything is in its place, and the current owner, Ángeles, has managed to place everything where it belongs, thus contributing to the magic of the place. In addition to exquisite, friendly service, she's always attentive to your comfort and whether you need an extra load of firewood. What else can I say... Fantastic place... fantastic house... unbeatable surroundings. A perfect family vacation. We played Parcheesi and cooked together again... without cell phones.

We're thoroughly enjoying these days surrounded by nature. We're hiking and biking, the river is right at our doorstep, and we spend the evenings in Melide, a lively town. Highly recommended.
