The hostel was basic and a bit tatty but clean. With only 2 others guests staying, it was fairly comfortable. But I didn’t find the owner Simon very welcoming, with various rules about footwear and where you can hang things (much more than any other hostel I’ve used) so I didn’t find it very relaxing. Then there’s the ridiculous notice about not accepting English banknotes…

Well, the price is reasonable and there was availability when all the other hostels were full. 25 pounds per person. The main room has records and an old record player and a fire, which was cozy. Old bunks in a big room. There were only three of us there when I was there. It’s remote, and the owner Simon is… interesting. Worked well enough for our needs.
Hiking Aina
A typical bunkhouse, but very comfortable. The owner may look a bit quirky at first, but he is a wonderful, friendly and caring host. Perfect location to start hikes into the mountains around. The kitchen is fitted with everything you need to cook up some food, a kettle, complimentary tea and a small shop (some cans of soup,...). I enjoyed my time here :)
