Gunter's Guesthouse

Lovely guesthouse along the Mestia-Ushguli trail! Big family dinner and breakfast pre/post hike (and a lunchbox if you wanted it), great views and friendly owners. The dorm room was a little cold whilst we were there but I think that was just due to the door not shutting properly!

I booked for one night and ended up staying for three!! The two sisters who run this guesthouse are so warm, friendly and caring!! They speak English and are keen to share their culture with you! They make lovely food and even shared their homemade cake, bread, tea with me! The guesthouse is very authentic and traditional stonehouse. They cook everything on the big stove! The shower is hot and they have heaters if you are cold! I feel so lucky to have been able to have such a local and traditional Georgian experience. It was made extra special by the two lovely sister hosts - thank you so much for having me and taking such good care of me!!

Best place we stayed during our hike! The people were very nice. The food was really good and it was all handmade. Also the old lady was really sweet to us. (But I think you need to bargain a bit for a good price)
