Refuge d'Ilheou

A modest hut with a beautiful location in the Pyrenees near a bivouac spot. The hut serves lunch including crepes and pasta dishes, as well as coffee in the mornings. It’s not a hotel or anything, which was a good thing from our perspective!

I didn't stay here but I walked to the lake by taking the cable car/ chair lift. It had stunning scenery and although the lake was quite busy no one was overly loud or obtrusive. Overall it was very nice.

Amazing gardienne and beautiful hike. There are three different routes up, one of which is very accessible even in Bad weather. The Hut has a hot shower, stunning views and good food! The dorm is super cozy and even though it's not heated, I didn't freeze at all with the duvet and wool blanket. 10/10
