Hotel Boutique Mendi Argia

Cute hotel in the hills but way overpriced. For $300/night, I would expect a higher degree of hospitality, a working coffee machine, and a larger room. We were excited about this place based on the Michelin review, but it’s not a place I’d recommend considering the abundance of other options for less money and better service in the area.

We had a fantastic stay here, the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, the layout and size of the hotel feels like a generous house as opposed to a hotel. There are lots of little spots around the grounds to have a quiet drink overlooking San Sebastián. Slightly low mark for location as it’s difficult to get to by foot or public transport, we just about managed but it meant carrying luggage, baby and pram up several flights of very steep steps! However taxis are available from a couple of taxi ranks in town and the reception can book them whenever you need. Ultimately worth it for the views, the service is laid back but there’s always someone available if you need anything.

I loved the view of this hotel. The parking was a little challenging at the bottom of the hill. I loved our room, it was a little small but it was still perfect for our anniversary. The pool was beautiful with a view you will never forget. The hotel lobby representatives were extremely professional and nice. Our TV didn't work, but we let them know halfway and after our stay. The shower was one of those half glass things I don't ever really like those. Other than that, perfecto! Short taxi ride into town!
