The apartment we rented for a weekend was very well located, right across from the shuttle stop that goes directly to the slopes. Our room faced the street, but it was very quiet. There's a heated room for storing your boots and skis, and the extra touch that makes all the difference is Maria, who is simply wonderful and very kind in her welcome. Thank you, Maria!

In this first part of the review, I'll focus specifically on the apartment where we stayed for seven nights, apartment 111. The kitchen was somewhat outdated but functional, and the bathroom had no window, resulting in significant condensation. The mattress was quite uncomfortable, and my partner woke up on the last day with bites on his back that looked like bedbug bites. Our room had a terrace, which, if it had been in good condition, would have brightened our stay somewhat, but its state was so disastrous that we decided to close the door and not go out onto it for almost any of the days. The floor and walls were completely peeling, there were cobwebs everywhere, and it was full of live and dead insects… yes, I know I'm in the countryside, but a terrace shouldn't be in that condition and offered as an added bonus in an apartment. Now I'll comment on the rest of the building. The apartment didn't have a washing machine, but the building has a "laundry" room with three washing machines and a drying area next to the building's boilers. It wouldn't be a problem if the area were clean, but it looked more like a cave than a room for washing and drying clothes. Add to that the fact that a cat sleeps and roams in the same room where the clothes are dried, and you have a recipe for disaster: smells and fur. Luckily, we're not allergic to cats, but people who are should definitely avoid these apartments. The rest of the building, the reception area, and the access to the common areas looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages—carpets covered in cat hair, dust… everything was very, very neglected. We knew it was a budget place, but we've stayed in budget-friendly places without any frills that were clean. It's a shame because the area is beautiful, and we really enjoyed exploring its scenery.

Fantastic weekend with friends! The apartments matched the description perfectly, each bedroom had its own bathroom and toilet, there was ski storage, an elevator, and Maria gave us a very warm welcome. They're right in the center of Barèges and close to the free shuttle buses.
