While the reviews about the walk up here are all true, the host made it worth it! For us, once we crested that horrible hill, the host walked out and greeted us kindly. When he saw it was just me (the booking was for two people) he offered to get in his car and pick up my mother who was still walking up the hill. We declined his offer, but the generosity already was outstanding. Once inside, you are greeted with a historic house with beautiful wooden beams. If my memory is correct, the original house that the owner resides in was built sometime in the 1600’s, and the guest stay in the new-ish renovated add-on. True, it’s only three rooms, and it’s quite chilly inside the house itself in mid-May, but everything was quite clean and nice. After introductions, he gave us some beers and told us to text him what we want for breakfast. We chose a humble breakfast of delicious scrambled eggs and tea. Overall the stay was a blessing in disguise and our stay and host were lovely!!

The owner is a gracious host. The place is very clean and lovely inside and out, although a bit difficult to get to, due to very steep terrain. My daughter and I had a very comfortable, pleasant stay there. I'm glad we found this place while hiking the Camino.

We stayed September 2022. I want to point out that the hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. The main house was also lovely. But I must also point out the issues as they did cause us a lot of trouble and frankly ruined the stay in San Seb. The access road is terrible, and even more so in the rain, if you do not have a proper 4x4 then you are screwed. I became an expert after two days. It does say something when you see abandoned cars in the ditches and slopes!! The second problem is the annex area, where there are 3 of the bedrooms. The main living area was fine but cold (we should have guessed as there we’re patio heaters in there), though we never used it other than for eating. The bedrooms are not nice, especially the shower rooms/toilets. They are tatty and generally unkempt, beds are straight from by the inquisition. Often when it rained, the electrics failed. If this was a hostel in the jungles of Cambodia you would be more accepting, however we paid a substantial amount for what was a disappointing stay. To the owners, Please take this criticism as constructive, use some of your profits and fix the issues. Though how you resolve the access road, god only knows. May be offer helicopter arrivals/departures?
