Maison La Saxe

We had an amazing stay at Maison La Saxe. The rooms are perfect, and the service is fantastic. The owners have all the information to make your stay as good as possible, with top tips on things like ski locker rental etc. The lifts to and from the ski lifts are a great addition, and a fabulous breakfast! Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back!

We stayed at this B&B in August 2024 before starting the Tour de Mont Blanc hike. It wasn’t easy to find but the stone structure building was very interesting, and they did a good job for making rooms comfortable. We really appreciated the breakfast. It wasn’t a buffet. The host served each table and took the coffee order for each one’s preference. We can tell that it was very thoughtfully prepared – Excellent coffee, a basket of assorted breads and scones, fresh squeezed juice made from some berries which we forgot the name of it, yogurt, cheese, ham, etc. The host even packed the bread and ham for our lunch to go!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maison La Saxe during our Tour du Mont Blanc hike—it was the perfect mid-trip oasis! We ended up extending our visit by an extra night because it served as an ideal base for exploring the stunning Aosta Valley. From the Maison La Saxe, we easily hopped on local and regional buses to visit enchanting castles, fascinating Roman ruins, and taste in the region’s cuisine. Everything felt seamless and authentic. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was quaint and charming, with that cozy alpine vibe we needed after days on the trail. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring we got the rest we needed to recharge. Every aspect of our experience was pleasant and memorable—highly recommend this gem for hikers or anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Mont Blanc area, with the ancient charm of Courmayeur Italy, 5 stars!
