Staying at the Sonnalm is a special treat, it feels like you live in the extension of the family home. Conversations with other guests and the staff happen naturally and lift this experience from great to amazing. Food is wonderful with options for your dietary preferences, but always made with care. The hotel is rustic but cozy, don't expect 5 star level hotel roomsbut they are clean and spacious. Then we get to the location, halfway up the ski mountain, pay attention when packing and preparing!, away from the après ski scène you can enjoy the view over town from the hot tub with a beer. We stayed here with 6 buddies and we are contemplating coming back already. Thanks to the entire staff & owners for a wonderful stay!

With a group of 6 friends (age between 27 and 46) we stayed in Sonnalm for three nights. It is located on the mountain, very close to the skipiste and the gondola. Our goal was to stay away from the party scenes in the valley. Thats why we were looking for a stay somewhere on the mountain in a non-party ski-area. So it happened 🙂 We enjoyed the silence (in the evening theres nobody except the hotelguests and crew), watch the beautiful environment (nice view on the lake of Zell Am See), took our daily hot tub, had good austrian food/drinks and nice conversations with other guests and the crew. Thanks Maurits, Walter, Sonny, Amelie and Marie for you warm welcome and making our stay unfortaggetable. It was our first time, bit certainly not our last. Niels and friends
