This place is gorgeous, I so loved the old building inside and outside! Unfortunately it was full when we arrived, but Jesus at the reception was unbelievably helpful and genuinely sympathetic. He marked several other places on our map and called like 5 different hostels and pensions until he found a place for us. We were completely blown away by such attitude. I would highly recommend this place.

Charming, and great value for money, if you don't mind damp smell and stairs that might collapse under you. In exchange you stay in a castle-like building with ancient interior that slowly falls apart, but in a central spot, right at the harbour bridge of interesting Portugalete. So, if you go for "character", instead of renovated sterility, this is the place for you!
