This hotel is superb. The setting is ideal for access to a wide range of hiking areas, a boot washing facility was provided outside the front door of the hotel. Otherwise it is ideal for just relaxing by the sea and savouring the laid-back atmosphere of Valle Gran Rey. All the staff are friendly and professional and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The food, I had breakfast and the buffet dinner, was of a high standard at all times, there was plenty of choice with locally sourced produce where available. The rooms were comfortable (especially the beds), and were kept very clean by cheerful staff. A highlight was the rooftop pool, sufficiently deep and long enough to have a proper swim. The pool was always clean and well maintained, the average water temperature whilst I was there in January was 22°C, which might be rather on the chilly side for some, but an encouragement to keep on swimming for others! Altogether, a wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting. I would reccommend Hotel Gran Rey highly and hope to return.

I really loved the place! A quiet hotel for adults travelling without kids. Very kind service at the reception and breakfast restaurant. Also cleaning was 5/5 and so was the cleaning crew. The rooms were really nice standard rooms for 2, breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed. I kind of felt bad for the staff since all the German guests were stomping around expecting them to speak German. Seriously, why? It’s not too hard to learn few words in Spanish instead.

In a nut shell: Excellent Oceanfront Hotel in Valle Gran Rey The hotel enjoys a prime location right on the oceanfront in Valle Gran Rey. It sits just steps from a charming seaside promenade, within easy walking distance of several beaches, and only a five-minute drive from the harbor where whale-watching excursions depart. A number of cafés and restaurants are also nearby, and several supermarkets and additional dining options are just a short drive away. The property has three floors, with guest rooms on the first two levels. A large rooftop pool occupies the third floor, where breakfast is also served each morning. On the ground floor, there is an additional dining room offering a buffet dinner (€20 per person) for those who wish to dine in. The overall atmosphere in the area is youthful and welcoming, and that pleasant energy is felt throughout the hotel. Our room was spacious, certainly not new, but very well maintained and clean. The bed, though not particularly large, was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and functioned perfectly. The room also included air-conditioning, a small refrigerator, a hairdryer, and decent Wi-Fi. There is a safe, though as this is a three stars property, the key costs €5 for up to 24 hours. Parking can be a challenge in the evening. There is a large public lot next to the hotel and free street parking, but after around 5 p.m. the area fills up quickly. Fortunately, the hotel offers private parking behind the building for the very reasonable price of €4 per day, an excellent solution if you arrive later in the day. Breakfast is served on the third floor in a very spacious dining area, with the added bonus of a terrace that overlooks the Atlantic, a wonderful way to start the morning. The breakfast itself is excellent and varied, offering pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt, jams, made-to-order eggs, several coffee machines, and a fresh orange juice press. Service throughout the hotel is friendly and efficient. Considering the quality, location, and overall experience, the price is very reasonable. In my view, it would be no exaggeration to say that this is one of the best hotels in La Gomer
