Masseria Santa Lucia

Facilities were great but management (not staff) was rubbish with greed being the main drive. The room we were placed in was across the yard from the hall were events are held. No prior notification and loud music till 2am despite complaining to staff. Ruined our experience. When asked for compensation we were given 15 euro discount on our next stay! Such disrespect for their customers! Avoid.

The rooms are the best part - very large and completely new and clean, built as a cave with large stones. There is a balcony for each room. There is a pool in the hotel. Breakfast is basic. Location requires a car as it is very much outside of the area of interest which is the sassi. Though it is way lower price than any of the hotels in the sassi.

What a hidden gem! When we first drove up to Masseria Santa Lucia, we thought the map had to be wrong, an industrial area seemed like an unlikely setting for a masseria. But as soon as we passed through the gates, we discovered a private oasis. Our room, located just across from reception, opened onto the patio where breakfast was served. It was peaceful and quiet. We couldn't hear a single sound. The pool offered a stunning view of the Matera landscape and was the perfect place to relax. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Andrea, Enzo, and Lucia were warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, truly making it exceptional. Every restaurant they recommended was fantastic—every single meal was a delight.
